What is Spartan race?

The Spartan race is a fitness race that includes a number of various obstacles that the participant of the Spartan race must overcome. In the first place, it is, for example, mud, water ditches or elevation. In addition, the Spartan race competitor can look forward to a number of different physical tasks, such as climbing a rope, holding hands, "flipping" a tire and other hardcore Spartan race exercises. It should be noted that the Spartan race is not a race that can be mastered without prior proper training. Three types of races can be raced – Sprint, Super and Beast. Although the Spartan Race also has a Sprint category (the mildest), many people drop out during the race or sustain minor or serious injuries. Therefore, training for a Spartan race should not be underestimated.

Why train for a Spartan race?

As already mentioned - Spartan race is not a cookie cutter race, although anyone can participate in it. Before entering a Spartan race, no one is physically checked to see if they are ready to run the given race. So everything is purely under the direction of the competitor. So it is up to him to what extent he prepares and if he prepares enough to be able to finish the given race without any problems - if possible without complications, injuries and in the best possible time. Therefore, training for a Spartan race should not be underestimated  - this applies even to the least difficult type of race. Whether it concerns any sport – preparation is always the most important part from which the given performance depends.

Spartan race sprint is the easiest of the three races. But that doesn't mean it's simple. Perhaps it could be said that it is the most difficult, since usually every competitor starts with it and therefore does not know what awaits him at Spartan races. It is 5+ kilometers and 15+ obstacles.

Training for the Spartan race - a bit of a different race

If someone feels that he has already completed a number of races, for example 15-20 kilometers or even longer, and these races would not cause him any trouble at all, then the Spartan race can be an unpleasant surprise for him. If someone is used to classic endurance races, this will surely help them a lot. But the Spartan race is different – ​​a combination of running in rough terrain up hills in mud, climbing, crawling under barbed wire, overcoming various physically demanding obstacles, this is something completely different from classic running races. So even training for a Spartan race will be completely different from regular races. Therefore, even experienced athletes who prepare honestly can be very surprised by the Spartan race.
